Awesome Hike and Fly paragliding in Nepal

This video is taken from a couple flight in the first part of January 2018 at a launch a few minutes walk from Sarangkot in Pokhara.

I am fairly new to paragliding (that is to say around 100 hours of air time over 2 years), and wanted a place to improve my flying as fast as possible while the missus is working, mainly so I can catch up to her mad skillz.

Pokhara fit the bill! Relatively cheap (the hidden costs definitely start to add up, like $106 month for local licenses, $100 for a 3 month visa as there is no 2 month visa, and so on and so on), but still, it is already living up to expectations as far as there being a lot of lift, most of the time.

This video is shot at the beginning of January and the season only really gets under way in February, but already my airtime is going up fast.

As for the hiking, although lifts are only about $2 to launch, I am trying to get back in shape and prepare for a lot more hike and fly in 2018 and eventually some proper Vol Biv. Soon I will start hiking up with my pack again, without my pack it takes about one and a half hours, and is mostly a really nice walk through nature.

Much more flying to come and with any luck some little cross country flights before the end of February.
