This was an ideal day to get my intro to Sand City and I'm so glad I brought the GoPro to capture this relaxing, almost meditative footage. The wind was a steady 10-11mph. On my first flight, I sank-out, trying to cross a gap in the ridge. After a quick hike and a reset, I managed to get ample altitude, to make the crossing. At min sink, there were long stretches where you could perfectly balance the forces and sit almost perfectly stationary in the sky, for minutes at a time. This was perfect, because it allowed me to watch several pods of whales, just offshore.
