Last week I made a video title “Terrible Mistakes when learning Vietnamese! My Vietnamese name? Ê chề mắc lỗi khi học Tiếng Việt!”
If you haven’t already seen it, I’d encourage you to watch it. As an English speaker and a foreigner learning Vietnamese, Vietnamese is a rather interesting language as it incorporates 6 different tones. In order to speak Vietnamese, you need to remember the word and the specific tone. However, when you accidentally change the tone, combine different words, or even make small pronunciation mistakes, it can drastically change the meaning. This video will highlight some funny mistakes that I’ve made speaking Vietnamese, listening issues and a couple fun stories with Vietnamese learning English. Make sure to turn the Vietnamese or English subtitles on! See the CC for them.
