Paraglider Control: Big Ears or B3? (Gin Carrera)
Flybubble Paragliding performs a quick shootout in slow motion between the traditional 'big ears' paraglider descent technique and the new 'B3' raked wingtip effect using the Gin Carrera.
On some wings this is done with the B3 line, on some the C3 line. It is possible to induce a kind of tip stall using the C3s on the Carrera, but it is not ideal. It bends the wing into a horseshoe and slows it down. The method I demonstrate in this video was using the B3 lines. You have to reach into the B maillon and fish out the line just inside of the stabilo.
This is only suitable on some wings with the correct rigging. Usually modern high-aspect ratio wings respond well to this technique.
Have you used this technique? What do you think?
