Peak2 Test Flight With FlyBubble Paragliding
Carlo Borsattino, Chief Flying Instructor of Flybubble Paragliding received a Peak 2 from Niviuk to test fly. This is the video from his very first test flight on it, after a great day's instructing paragliding at Firle hill on the South Downs in Sussex, England. Unfortunately the wind died just as Carlo got the Peak 2 out, but he gave it a good check over and a short flight to get the feeling of it. First impressions are very good: Very nicely put together, and great build quality; very nice inflation, despite lots of cells and quite small cell openings (all open, except for at the tips); very well formed leading edge, very clean; relatively easy to ground handle (for a wing in this class) and sits nicely above your head in a nice steady breeze; very nice looking wing, very aesthetically pleasing; hard to tell from such a short flight but it seemed to have very good glide and trim speed to me; relatively short brake travel, with very direct handling - a very precise and responsive feel -- and moderate brake pressure; I felt quite heavily loaded on the 24 at 103Kg all-up (very good for strong conditions, not so good for weak, scratchy conditions). Overall first impressions: A wing that I'd really like to fly some more and get to know better in more active conditions (with more lift!); perhaps I am a touch heavy on the 24 and need to try the 26. I will try the 24 again another (better) day to be sure...
